WHAT IS MCKC?
Our history, mission, and vision
MCKC (Michigan Council of Korean Churches) Youth Camp belongs to a larger network of Korean churches in Michigan. Dating back several decades, our organization has been dedicated to seeing the different generations in the larger Korean church of Michigan unite with one another and with Christ.
OUR MISSION.
Our mission is to partner with local Korean churches to actively nurture the next generation to become steadfast followers of Christ.
To do this, we foster a solid groundwork of faith through a wide range of initiatives such as comprehending the Gospel, engaging in daily devotion, participating in a wide variety of activities, immersing in the teachings of the Word, mentorship between counselor and camper, and cultivating an enduring sense of joy in their knowledge and personal relationship with our Savior.
“‘THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE,’ ANSWERED JESUS, ‘IS THIS: HEAR, O ISRAEL: THE LORD OUR GOD, THE LORD IS ONE. LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH. THE SECOND IS THIS: LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. THERE IS NO COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE.’”
— Mark 12:29-31
OUR VISION.
Inspired by Mark 12:29-21, our vision for this ministry is that the Korean-American youth of Michigan* would love God and His people with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
*Although our organization initially began with this demographic in mind, the invitation is open to all youth
